Honeysuckle

To lift our spirits in these difficult economic times the colour authority for the design industries, Pantone has announced 2011’s colour as Honeysuckle (Pink).

Honeysuckle, it’s that sweet sticky smell of spring that nature does so well, but it’s the colour that really takes your breath away.

Honeysuckle is subtle yet vibrant, soft yet striking, reminds you of the warmth of summer yet has a cool refreshing quality, and has been welcomed like spring itself by Couture and Interior Designers alike.

As in nature this vital shade of pink sits well with low key contrast such as white, and cream, while holding is own with strong contrast, try it up against black, navy and stormy greys – It really is a colour for everyday in all seasons.

2010 saw Pantone name Turquoise (15-5519 Pantone) colour of the year, wonderfully refreshing, transporting us all to those tropical escapes. In 2011 Honeysuckle is being used to encourage us not to escape but to face the world head on with fervor and spirit. Be bold and adventurous. Honeysuckle is a powerful colour it stimulates strong emotions within us similar to those of its relative to red.

Use these emotions in your wardrobe, décor and even your stationery choices this year. This could be your bold statement for 2011!
